Major milestones ahead for Tesco.

Due to the later than expected delivery of certain European and Global standards and development of technology, Tesco delayed the rollout of its Secure Supply Chain initiative until November 2004.
 
 
 
 

Following the aforementioned delay, Tesco have now published their RFID roadmap with the key deadlines as follows:-

Now - Suppliers to start their own R&D activities (if not already underway)

Q1 2005 - Additional standards review undertaken by Tesco. (Timeline that follows depends on a successful review)

Q1 2005 - Tesco requirements updated

June 2005 - Begin rollout of case level Radio Barcoding to phase 1 case level products

October 2006 - begin rollout of case level Radio Barcoding to all remaining case level products.
